The high-voltage battery may experience electrical arcing, leading to a fire

PhotoPorsche Cars North America is recalling 4,777 model year 2023 Taycans, Taycan 4Ss, Taycan Turbo Ss, Taycan Turbos, Taycan GTSs, Taycan 4 Cross Turismos, Taycan 4S Cross Turismos, Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismos, Taycan Turbo Cross Turismos, and Taycan GTS Sport Turismos.

The high-voltage battery may have an insufficient amount of sealant, which can allow liquid to accumulate in the battery.

Liquid accumulation in the high voltage battery can cause electrical arcing, increasing the risk of a fire.

What to do

Dealers will test the battery for leakage and replace the battery -- as necessary -- free of charge.

Letters notifying owners of the issue are expected to be mailed October 31, 2023.

Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at (800) 767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is APB2.
