Neeraj clinched the gold during the official podium ceremony held after the day's events concluded, just before the Indian national anthem resonated through the air. Alongside the coveted title, he proudly carried home a substantial cash prize amounting to $70,000, which translates to approximately Rs 58 lakhs (Indian Currency).
In the same event, Nadeem displayed exceptional prowess, securing the silver medal with an impressive throw spanning 87.82 meters. His achievement granted him a cash award of $35,000. Meanwhile, Jakub Vadlejch from the Czech Republic demonstrated remarkable skill, earning the bronze medal with a throw of 86.67 meters. Following in the footsteps of his idol Jan Zelezny and Norway's Andreas Thorkildsen, Neeraj has become only the third javelin thrower to achieve the remarkable feat of securing gold medals in the Continental, Olympic, and World Championships.
